The Obama Administration - Tyranny Begins With A Single Benign Act Of Lawlessness
Start small: dispose of a pesky corporate CEO, who is not compliant and objects to your grand design for the U.S. automobile industry. Who could object to the summary dismissal of the unpopular Mr. Wagoner, after all he was just getting in the way of the grand plan. Never mind that President Obama had no such legal authority. By simple fiat, he fired a sitting corporate CEO, and overrode those with the legal authority to make such decisions, the GM board of directors.
Like so many politicians before him, he instinctively knows that in an opportune economic crisis, it is only a small step from being the duly elected “President” to being transformed into a charismatic leader with the power to bend the will of the people to his own. It is comforting to know that his obsequious followers in the heretofore-free press will deal with criticism harshly. Even proposing mind-boggling trillion dollar per year deficits for the next decade are met with wild enthusiasm by an adoring press. And the trap is sprung - he begins to believe his own press.
Emboldened by the muted public response to his first indiscretion the popular new leader is crowned, His Royal Highness (HRH) Obama, and summarily rewrites the bankruptcy laws to suit his royal whim. Through thuggish coercion HRH Obama and his court forced the senior-secured lenders to take a secondary position to unsecured lenders in the “pre-packaged” Chrysler-FIAT bankruptcy plan. HRH Obama in his royal decree characterized the 20 or so lenders who initially opposed his plan as “a small group of speculators”. His left wing “nut job” lackey Representative Dingell characterized them as “vultures” and warned that they “will be dealt with in court”. Their crime one can only assume was being moneylenders. Lest there be unrest in the kingdom the 20 recalcitrant lenders were also made to bow before their popular sovereign.
Until recently, senior secured lenders, those that held a contract that gave them first lien on a companies assets, had a preferential position in any bankruptcy proceeding unless of course they “voluntarily” give up that right. HRH Obama has by simple royal fiat and thuggery eliminated this centuries old legal right. By royal edict he has managed to payoff his loyal political supports, the UAW, with a majority, 55%, stake in the new Chrysler-FIAT consortium.
I guess the new standard at the Obama Court is to encourage financial institutions to ignore their fiduciary responsibility to the “widows and orphans” pension plans they manage, if it gets in the way of HRH Obama’s Chicago style political payola.
In time-honored tyrannical tradition HRH takes advantage of an economic crisis and selects an unpopular target: Greedy Wall Street bankers! Hedge fund moneylenders! Speculators! Shameful profiteers! It is so ever so tempting to fall back on classic stereotyping. Appealing to innate prejudice is like taking candy from a baby for an articulate politician who wants his way at any cost.
HRH Obama’s populist demagogic outcries against America’s 200-year history of free market capitalism seem limitless but no doubt well thought out. Who could object if a young and popular king teaches these scoundrels the lesson they disserve? In such dire circumstances who could blame him for ignoring the legal niceties?
With two simple and apparently benign lawless acts this popular young sovereign has changed the American ideal from a nation laws to a nation where the monarch can override centuries of legal tradition with a simple wave of the royal hand.
Our Anglo-American legal traditions have been stood on their head. It is as if the Magna Carta had never been written and King John never accepted that his will could be bound by the law.
Where will we go next: what law will we bent or broken if it gets in the way of HRH’s vision of an American social revolution?

In all seriousness, I have to agree. Regardless of how much funding the feds pump into a publicly held corporation they are nothing more than an investor unless/until a representative is elected to the board. Even at that, said representative is only entitled to their lone vote. Good points.

Government control over private citizens and companies has been growing alarmingly over the past years, most notably with the passage of the Patriot Act. People want steady industries, government-insured jobs, government-controlled healthcare, they want the supposed security these things bring. However, many do not consider the loss of liberty that goes with it. A third-party using my money to fund someone else’s healthcare is stealing, against my right to personal property, and just wrong. Government control of industry is inefficient and wasteful, and rarely produces as many jobs as a free or freer market. It should be noted that while they could produce jobs out of thin air workers would be payed less for each extraneous job given out. He who would trade liberty for security deserves neither.
As a preemptive strike against those who would flame against me for opposing socialized medicine, yes, everyone has a moral responsibility to help those who need medical care. However, using government to coerce individuals into doing so is wrong. It is not your right to impose your morals onto other people. It is not your right to use the government to coerce people into giving up their property for others. It is your right and responsibility to go through with and convince other people that they should help those in need.
Also, for the more pragmatic financial arguments, the healthcare system was fine until the government “fixed” it. At one point prices for healthcare were so low that people demanded government intervention to “save” the industry. The healthcare system is best left to a free market with no government intervention.

You know, the direction Amerika is going in, is actually closer to fascism then any other form of dictatorship. There is a limit to the power grab. The American people are tolerant, forgiving and patient. However when that limit is reached, there will be a backlash that will not be pretty. I suspect that a lot of more discerning people are just about to get a belly full of high-handed Chicago styled political shenanigans that run rough shod over people of good will. Greed is justly loathed but arrogance to the point that laws and rights are set aside as cheap dope for the ignorant, will not long endurer on the American political landscape.

Today, unlike the beginnings of the two major political parties, the only difference between Democrats (1828) and Republicans (1861) today is petty rivalry over the lesser issues; the major issues being national sovereignty, our money system, and that which the Revolutionary War was fought for, perpetual Independence as a nation..
Having been trained as a socialist in the Los Angeles school system of the 1950s, then remaining in the Democrat Party for over 44 years (my objective learning beginning in the Army and later, revealing that my public schooling was anti-free market indoctrination), I have to agree with Mr. Bologna.
In studying long term economic history it is obvious that the BUSH-CLINTON-BUSH-OBAMA CONTINUUM almost an exact “carbon copy” of the Republican-Democrat economic policies of the 1920s-30s that turned a mild recession, that would likely have lasted between six months and 18 months, into more than ten years of catastrophic losses for most Americans, longer for others. Massive government involvement and currency inflation brought about the “Great” Depression.
Now we are seeing the most spectacularly humongous inflation of a money supply since the Wiemar Republic’s demise into nazism (fascism [or corporate state, if you prefer that term] mixed with genocide and megalomania unbridled)
The Obama plan is obviously simply a massive acceleration of the socialistic polices of the Bush1, Clinton and Bush 2, a continuum.
As the famous philosopher and movie star, Will Rogers, commented on Democrats and Republicans during the Eisenhower years, “There is not one Dime’s worth of difference between them”. A cup of coffee was five to ten cents then. An ice cream bar could be had for a Nickel. A Babe Ruth candy bar was 3 cents. I would say that today, “there is not a Penny’s worth of difference between the two MAJOR parties”. What can you buy for a Penny today?
Yup. It looks like we are in for some really bad times ahead, due to a repeat of the 1920s-30s-40s central banking manipulation of politicians and governments around the world. Sadly, all that is necessary to bring back prosperity is the elimination the anti-business attitude of most local, county, state and federal government, and a return to an unfettered solid money system. GET GOVERNMENT OUT OF IT!!!
Due to government regulations and fees the costs to just get a business going has risen by at least 1,000% since the 1950s. After such a major cost it is necessary to contend with interlopers of various stripes trying to “get a piece of your action” (using government coercion without any effort of their own) through any means possible, from intimidation by gangs demands of “protection money” to opulently rich labor union bosses tricking working people into handing over their money to support (job killing) socialistic candidates for political offices.
Keep the TEA PARTY going until all the Republican-Democrat “earmark”-”pork” specialists are thrown out of office; this includes the “liberals” and “conservatives” who have “embezzled” more than $2.4 Trillion from the SOCIAL SECURITY TRUST FUND over the past 20+ years (pretended “borrowing”), which would have been secure for the next 50 to 70 years if politicians had left it alone.
Let’s all support the TENTH AMENDMENT Project. It is time to end centralized power that is in violation of our Constitution and return power to the people. Read the TENTH AMENDMENT; it is very powerful; and a major protector of the rights of the people.

I find myself in complete agreement with A. Benton, yet would take this argument a few steps further;
It is not merely the continuing state emergency experienced these days, nor the “wars” fought in our name, or rogue departments within the “government” , the side note stating that “run away Grand Jury’s although Constitutional are to be considered obsolete and ignored, nor FDR’s declaration OF emergency in 1933 (never rescinded), the manipulation of gold prices, the formation of the Federal Reserve in 1913 and the IRS, the practice of judges to misinform (or not inform at all) jurors of their real powers AS jurors beginning in 1885, nor the incorporation of the “United States of America” by “Congress” in 1871, nor the Leiber Code of 1863…
No, good people, this all began on March 27, 1861 when the Southern States stood as one and walked out of a sitting session of Congress, leaving too few left to fill a quorum to close said session. Congress died that day, as did the Constitution. The President, as the sole remaining branch with any authority to run (on a daily basis) any part of the government.
Lincoln declared a state of emergency, martial law was imposed, and “Congress) was called to sit at the pleasure of the President… an event that continues to this day.
600,000 Citizens died during the Civil War, and that price has enslaved us all.

Like A. Benton Edmons, I grew up in the same L.A. School System, my indoctrination came at a young age.
It took a long time, and much study to get out of that mind-set, but, in the words of Dr. King, (borrowed from someone else) I am Free at last- Great God almighty, I am free at last.
My mind is able to grasp that things are not right, here. I, for one, am terribly impressed with Dr. Ron Paul. He has a Litmus Test for all bills which come before him: Is it based on the Constitution? If not- forget it, vote it down and go on. Pretty simple, folks. I would wish that you all would get behind his Audit of the so-called Federal Reserve. Where is OUR money? Why won’t they answer.
This is OUR land, Folks- not the gummint’s. My fear for this land that I love is a simple one. That it will have to be done now, or it will have to be done later, at the point of a gun.
We need to take it back from the 500 and some idiots who are running it now. Let’s just throw the bums out, and start afresh.

The new Leader of the Free World is already following the same protocol as Adolph Hitler. Both are/were men with inordinate Charisma who started their “Regimes” as “Saviors” of the People. As soon as they gained the trust of the Masses, they began to subtly “change” seemingly innocuous things like Gun Control in spite of the Constituyion’s avowal that We the People have a right to bear arms.
Later on each of these guys started to work on the heads of the people with such maneuvers as instilling National Pride in the hearts and minds of impressionable Youth. President Obama is now proposing that our youth be indoctrinated into young police force groups sans Uniforms. These Young men will not be spies in plain clothes and will not be allowed to attend a Church, will not wear uniforms in order to keep unsuspecting people under surveillance, to report any “trouble makers” and to “protect” the People from such.
Sounds like the Fourth Reich in embryo, and if you are in denial then you have not been keeping current with the real News that would surely be suppressed if it were not for writers such as Pat Buchanan and other Conservatives go forth courageously and who probably scare the you know what out of Obama. And that is precisely why he wants to silence them.

Sorry but I must disagree with the general thrust of this entry. That Wagoner had proven his incompetency is beyond question, surely. GM failed miserably to front the market. Wagoner was guiding a corpse and was unable to prepare it for either a decent funeral or resurrection. Bad times came and GM stood flatfooted on the edge of a precipice.
I challenge you or anyone to prove that his resignation contravened corporate law or practice in any way.
More importantly I’d like to see a reasoned suggestion as to how GM might have been saved by some other path than the one taken.

In the 1930’s Hitler began directly controlling industry, and in fact improved Germany’s economy and self-image. If he would have stopped there, he would today be viewed as the greatest leader in Germany’s history.
History buffs, look at the comparison of then and now…it is very eerie. If we are not careful, the forces of fascism in our country will destroy the only true politically and economically free country that has ever existed in the world.

I absolutely agree that “President” Obama is very wrong for this country. When are we, as a nation, going to wake up and realize that taking over banks, closing down our car manufacturers, pushing government controlled health care, and doing whatever you want; however you want is the first step to a socialized society. I was under the impression that our ancestors came to this country for freedom and yet here we are 200+ years later going after what our ancestors left. What Obama is pushing for is palatable to the masses now but when the true price tag is revealed it will then be too late to stop him. God save our country and our freedom. P.S. what gave Obama the right to ask(tell) Georgetown University to cover IHS when he was there? A sign of his true feelings about Christianity.

Obama shut down Guantanamo Bay, which under Bush ruthlessly terrorized innocent citizens and took away their constitutional rights, made plans to pull troops out of Iraq, a war which is costing us billions of dollars and sinking America further and further into debt, and he’s already taken action to try to get the economy back into shape. Adolf Hitler caused the genocide of over 6 million Jews.

What is a country coming to when a unknown nobody of unknown citizenship makes elegent speeches gives everyone the answers they want to hear, is likened unto the Messiah and finally voted into the office of President of the United States of America. HAS THIS COUNTRY TURNED INTO A COUNTRY OF IGNORANT MORONS? THE ANSWER IS YES ! I considered myself a Republican for about 45 years, but after GW, I am now in the “nothing party”. I’ve watched as our Democratic and Republican Senate and House of Representatives do NOTHING as the Oil Companies RAPE the American people. The banks RAPE us with interest and finance charges. The Drug companies RAPE us with unimaginable prices for drugs that keep people alive. Doctors must charge huge prices to make up for the Insurance companies charge them. The automobile companies RAPE us because the Unions RAPE them. Even a prostitute would get tired of being RAPED. What is it going to take for the American Citizen going to get tired of RAPE. I don’t want to get started with the immigration issue. But if anyone want to look up a speech by Teddy Roosevelt made in 1907 about his ideas on immigration and BEING AN AMERICAN you will understand what made this country great, instead of our current pansy-wansy ideas. This speech is well worth reading. I’m a patriotic AMERICAN that spent 4 tours in Vietnam. The illustrious leader of this country has NO experience in leadership, and NO experience concerning the military………but his speeches are good and he plans to bring “Change”, starting with Gun Control. If he were really intellegent he would look at all the countries that had total gun control and a Royal Highness for leader and the countries became tyranny Controlled and there was no freedom of speech, no freedom of worship, no freedom. Some of these countries were Germany under Adolph, Cuba, under Fidel, Russia, and numerous others. The 3-step way that they used are as follows. Complete REGISTRATION, next is total CONFISCATION and finally, ANNIHILATION. WAKE UP YOU BUNCH OF MORONS or you’ll get a very rude and undesired wake-up call.

Remember the GOLDEN RULE of Capitalism: “Whoever has the Gold, makes the rules”.
If it is not uncommon for private equity investors to mandate an executive shake-up as a condition of investing new capital into the company ,why doesn’t the same principle apply here?
The truth is that GM is on the verge of insolvency, thanks to Wagoner. It is perfectly legitimate for any investor (government included) to attach strings to their dollars.
Compare Obama’s actions to Paulson’s actions, in October 08, when Paulson FORCED bank executives to take capital, even when they did not want to. Any observer would note that Paulson’s hand was much heavier than Obama’s. Obama didn’t force GM to take the money. GM came begging for capital, and Obama said “we’ll provide some capital, but on our terms”.

I submit that the gambit to require substantially higher fuel efficiencies is a (really quite ADMIRABLE!) “back door” approach to actually COMPELLING people to do what they really SHOULD have been doing (on “THEIR” OWN!) LONG AGO NOW ALREADY!
How can such ever-increasing fuel efficiency requirements possibly be met??! Well, CONTRARY to the notion that has been propagandistically cultivated among a hugely TECHOLOGICALLY IGNORANT preponderance of “We the People” — who have evidently been beguiled into supposing that any meaningful change is predicated on hypothetical “exotic, futuristic” NEW developments “in the laboratory” over, say, the next fifty years or so — it would LONG AGO NOW ALREADY have been possible to implement an alternative-technology drive paradigm for the mere AUTOMOBILE that could have actually PUT AN END to most of “our” abject, addictive dependency on foreign oil! The many people who may not yet be aware of the fact that means for accomplishing that ARE in fact already in hand (and have indeed LONG been so!) need to wise up and understand some basic technological realities:
The truth of the matter is that by the application of very OLD technological concepts — applying to the mere automobile things worked out MANY YEARS AGO NOW ALREADY in much HEAVIER-DUTY systems — “we” could, beginning DECADES ago, have by now easily FLAT-OUT ELIMINATED about THREE-FOURTHS of oil importation to refine into gasoline to fuel “our” automotive vehicular fleet — had “we” but had the wit and the wisdom to do so!! (And “we” could have, incidentally, thereby simply AVOIDED the huge waste of an entire WAR / WORLDWIDE CONFLICT that has now crashed “our” whole economy!)
However OUTRAGEOUS and OUTLANDISH such an assertion may sound to many, make no mistake about it: PRECISELY THAT genuinely, simply IS the implication of the “new” ELECTRIC / I.C.E. “CHIMERA” automotive architectural concept — exemplified by the (hopefully) soon to be forthcoming (but really much belated!) Chevy VOLT — or if not that, then by its now slightly-FARTHER-advanced (recently formally “unveiled”) EUROPEAN counterpart (jovially dubbed the AMPERE), to be followed shortly (no doubt) by still other entries into the “development derby” coming from all those clever folks over in ASIA.
The idea involves BATTERY POWER carrying the car for a number of miles (in the case of the VOLT, FORTY), with an internal combustion engine then kicking in if (and only if) the battery runs down. But FULLY THREE-FOURTHS of all personal auto usage “fits” within a forty-mile power budget! You go to the store, bank, dentist, etc., and you come back home AND PLUG THE CAR BACK INTO THE WALL. MOST OF THE TIME THE PETROLEUM-POWERED ENGINE NEVER RUNS! The car is mainly powered by resources that “WE” can provide for “OUR”SELVES!
Now actually, BOTH components of this “chimera” are VERY OLD technology. ELECTRIC cars have been around since the EARLIEST days of the automobile! (And by the way, the speed record for ELECTRIC-powered cars these days out at the Bonneville Salt Flats now stands IN EXCESS OF FOUR HUNDRED MILES AN HOUR. So how’s THAT for speed and power?) Now I wonder just how THAT sort of technological / economic realization must now weigh on all the folks who long SPONSORED and BANKROLLED the likes of a Saddam Hussein (however unwittingly) — by blithely buying up so much of what he “had to sell” (and who then brainlessly, wastefully burned it up as a mere fuel to power “our” automobiles!) — and who (or whose kids and grandkids) then subsequently came to be lured off into fighting a dirty little “OIL war” over in Iraq, making “us” lots of enemies there and the world over — in some cases even coming back DEAD OR PERMANENTLY DAMAGED THEMSELVES or maybe having LOST LOVED ONES OR FRIENDS therein?? Surely it is an UGLY, HATEFUL reality to which to have to face up. But would it somehow be any “better” for people to now just meekly try to erect a “psychological defensive barrier of DENIAL”, letting their (under-the-circumstances) RIGHTFUL wrath and ire be “harmlessly” diverted over to and dissipated on mere practitioners of artificial hocus-pocus involving “our” “financial system”?! Just one more example of our march to socialism, everyone deserves their fair share of what someone else has worked for.
The goverment picks this up and starts delivering a little bit here and a little bit there. Next the goverment decides whats best for everyone, and people go along. Who complains when the kitchen pot is full regardless of what you might have to give up. One day you will need papers to go visit friends or family that don’t live on your street, but that’s ok because traveling is safer now that the goverment regulates what you drive, who can go where, and how long you can stay. Then you are told what kind of work you are best suited for and thats ok because the goverment guarentees that you will always have a job. Now that your job is guarenteed the goverment will tell who goes to school and who goes straight to digging ditches. Thats ok because everything is being taken care of you by King Obama and the rest of the peoples party. Eventually we wont have to worry about anything, which was told to Jews,poles,the union
workers, and about 6 million people in euope. Or the 2 million people that marched to death in SE Asia. And maybe the milloions of people that follow tyrant goverments and brutal relig-
ions that don’t allow you to think for yourself anymore! When will people figure out that to give up the freedom to think for yourself is the beginning of the loss of all freedoms. Unfortunatly everyone is not guarenteed a slice of the pie, you have to earn it.

How refreshing, even if some if the posters are technologically behind the times. Solutions?
1) We demand that our “Pretender-in-Chief”, the Imposter President of the United States, PROVE his “bona fides: if he CANNOT prove that he is a Constitutionally qualified President, he and all his appointees, Executive Orders and Signed Laws, must be evicted from the Government, hopefully, by legal and peaceful means.
2) To paraphrase an earlier political campaign, “It’s the CONSTITUTION, Stupid!” Were we abiding, strictly, by the Constitution, we would be able to solve over 90% of our present problems!
3) Automobiles and oil. The VOLT is a pale and “designed to fail” electrical vehicle which only goes 40 miles between charges: check out Tesla Motors! Their electric vehicles go 230 miles between charges and can reach over 120 MPH! But wait: there’s more! Check out the Motionless Electromagnetic Generator (or MEG), which is a patented quantum energy transducer (http://www.cheniere.org), which is as little as 12 to 18 months from production. There is actually even more to the MEG generator than I mentioned. It can also be adjusted to produce electrogravitics which will enable the production of constant acceleration space vehicles, using gravitic thrusters (already tested and proven in 1991): using such would allow round trips to the Moon, not in the 5 days of Apollo, but rather, in less than 8 hours, round trip, at only 1g constant acceleration. FORGET Hydrogen power: it’s too dangerous and will take too long and cost too much to build the infrastructure for the service stations to support the dangerous vehicles using the dangerously explosive hydrogen fuel. I’m quit impressed with this well-thought-out and researched blog. Having taught History for quite some time, I appreciate the references to a socialist regime such as Hitler’s or even Stalin’s. We, the people, can NOT do as the desperate people of Germany did. We are so starved for ‘change’ and for things to get ‘better’ that we gladly agree to anything that has a nice ring to it, giving up our rights in the process - much like Esau giving up his birthright for a bowl of food - and as a result, they were seduced by the charismatic Hitler. Our nation began out of the need to be shed of tyranny - taxation without representation and diabolical misuse of governmental power. Churchill said, “Those who refuse to learn from the past deserve to relive it.” I don’t want to ‘relive’ WWII nor anything remotely like it. I am not surprised to read what I am reading. But it will continue to sadden me, and anger me until I die. We did ourselves the greatest disservice when we did not take seriously the warnings of “Ike”. That is, for those of you who are too young to remember, or care to conveniently forget, President Dwight Eisenhower (R). In his unprecidented “farewell” address to the nation, he spoke of the socio-political challenges that faced the world in an era of extrememly rapid change following World War II. The FOCUS of his concern was the development of a dangerous relationhship that he saw growing between our capitalistic values, as pragmatically displayed in “industrial America” and the need to maintain a strong military with our morphed role following that great conflict. He did not question the need for a strong military, or the function of business and industry along our capitalistic lines of thought. He WARNED of this relationship being insidiously undermined by people of less than “good will” who would use this reality to further their own needs or design a system that would support their views on “things” and over time, subvert the very truths the Founding Fathers sacrificed so much to pass on to us. General Eisenhower was Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in Europe. He led us by example, and saw the evil that men can do as he toured the Death Camps VERY soon after they were liberated.

To which I say: As in the 9th and 10th amendment which the People, some of them anyway, are trying to do just to get a straight answer from Mr. Obama. All they seem to want is to make a better informed decision. All the ad hominems and speculation serve to do is continue to muddy the waters over what needs to be a transparent resolution. The argument seems to be that the Constitution is of primary importance, the ’sine qua non’ of all the issues facing America today. And although Berg, Taitz etal have an apparent propensity for lackluster litigation, the points raised are worthy of consideration, if for no other reason than just to be on the safe side. If their cases are proven to have no merit, we move on. If there is found to be “something rotten in Denmark” we will be better off discovering it proactively than retrospectively. That’s all.

It still amazes me that people would rather fight themselves than fight the growth of abusive government power.How can some of you be so blind as to think this is some kind of left vs. right argument?
I’ll be completely honest when I say that in my youth I voted for Bush, I got carried away with the rhetoric and made my decision based upon that.But now I have made myself much more informed, like our founding fathers intended us to be, and learned just where we went wrong.
All of you, young and old, need to wake up. Stop fighting each other for political gain. You are much more important than that and so is your neighbor. It is not about Republicans vs. Democrats, those things don’t even mean what they did to our fathers. We, as a people, can’t let them get one over on us.
My advice, read. Read like it’s going out of style. Read when your in the bath, read when your on the toilet. Read when the power goes out and you can’t watch “I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here”. Read the books that all of our founding fathers read. Read Alexis De Toqueville. Read John Adams (who by the way sacrificed very much for this country). Read about how Republicanism started (and no I don’t me the Republican Party). Read about why the founding fathers did what they did. When you do you will find out that you have been lied to for a very long time and you’ll no longer feel hatred for your fellow man, your fellow countryman.
Don’t let the media and even blogs suck up all of your attention. It just saddens me to no end how far our country (yes both left and right) has fallen away from the principles of Republicanism.
You can think (either because your ignorant or your college professor told you to) that this country is wrong and let me tell you, you are wrong. Sure we have done some bad things but ask yourself why? Why have we done some bad things? Is it because the principles upon which this country was founded were wrong? Or was it because we have allowed those principles to be perverted?
Please learn to examine whats within and make decisions based on fact and reason, not just your gut. When you do this we will rise up and take back our country. We will take it from all those who plan to spend us into bankruptcy so they have another dilemma to solve and push us towards totalitarianism.

In essence I agree with much of what “Dave” said in his blog posted 17 June, 2009. “John Adams” was just one book about one of our Founding Fathers that was excellent in its depiction of the many, many sacrifices they made to build this wonderful country. His point about the misinterpretation, or even worse, intentional perversion and application of our F. Father’s principles is well taken.
Noting that what I am about to say is oversimplified, but worthy of note, is that in large part we were able to “out spend” the Soviets in research, development and fielding of sophisticated military technology. Look at the state of the Russian Navy at this time and you will see just one example of the subsequent demise I refer to.
The point is this: resources are not without end in this realm. Hence, the existence of a “military-industrial complex” that President Eisenhower (and I ) referred to in my 11 June, 2009 entry is a very real concern. It has the potential to do just what Dave said, that is, spend us into bankruptcy and push us toward a more totalitarian mindset. The time between WW I and WW II in Germany is an extreme example of this potential.
We are Americans first. Healthy discourse is a great manifestation of our 1st Amendment Rights. Thank God, and our Founding Fathers for it. But the blame game is just that.
One point to ponder that I leave you with: Would not the limitation of “lobbying groups” and their unbridled access and obvious influence on the way our capital is spent be one area that needs to be reformed? And why is it that to be elected to public office, the ticket to do so has become so highly priced that only the elite can consider it, but then only when EVEN MORE money is needed by them to campaign? This is at the heart of how politicians become indebted towards “special interest groups” rather than real constituents of “good heart and mind”. The problems are deep and complex for America. The Founding Fathers tried to expel “influence peddling” from our system, but human nature is dichotomized. We can be virtuous, and we can be far less. Which way do we go, people. It BEGINS in each of us, each of our hearts,….and minds. There is ONE America And there is ONE Earth. We better figure this out, and soon!

Our illegally elected president signed it away in Europe on April 2,2009 we are now one vote of 42 as part of the new world government. pretty soon the military in this country will not be made up of Americans but rather U.N. peace keepers that wear the black armbands I wonder how many Obama lovers are going to like that. Re: yours of May 15th. I concur. Surely the Founding Fathers are rolling in their graves. What can save America, is not up to God alone. The Founding Fathers established this country under the premises which have made it great. Conservatives have held these principles, exemplified by “The Great Communicator”, Ronald Reagan. When we again adopt these principles, and demand they be followed by our appointed leaders, then America will be saved by the actions of all of us who remain so dedicated, and through the Grace of God.
Conservatism is in itself, the definition of the principles upon which this country was founded. Until we regain those principles, socialism will insidiously take over.
We must unite like never before, to defeat those who would destroy this great nation. We have done it before and we must do it now, or lose it forever. God helps those who help themselves.
Each of us must start in our own communities, and build the strength from the ground up to the presidency: i.e., get involved!

So much of what you say is true, as to the use of power and the money that pours out of the American coffers like sugar out of a ripped bag, but your conclusions may not be right.
I say that you “may not be right”, because we don’t know anything about the grounds we now stand upon and, what exactly, any president confronted with current perils should do. Yes, the current expenditures are outrageous, and the entitlement of primary donor dubious. But it’s not that simple. And, as for the Anglo-American legal principles being turned on their head; too late to whine. Our boy Bush made a mockery out of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and Executive power.
Fortunately, we are not looking at the abuse of power right now. What we are witnessing is the excessive use of power necessary to excise people and practices that have drained America of morals and money. Your Anglo-American mavins have instead become perfected white-collar criminals. Nothing but draconian action can address level of political depravity.
What we all need to pray/hope for, is the President Obama does not become adicted to public adoration and forget his original mission. This will be the hardest thing he has to do while in office. If he succeeds, I am very confident that his exercise of Executive power will represent the degree of social ill that he must heal, the moral vacuum that he must fill. Can he do it?
I don’t know, the problem is huge and never before has it existed in such numbers. We are a sick country, and if we were an animal on some old farmer’s farm, with the same illness, the only answer would be to shoot us. I am hoping that farmer Obama has a vision for saving us that the farmer is as yet unaware.

To read the rantings and hatred of those who oppose Obama is frighting and saddening. Here is a man who is trying to make right what the Republicans did wrong and he is being insulted by the people who think that Bush got it right. They talk about the Constitution as though they have actually read it. These people are uneducated and in many cases racist. The world is in so much trouble and these people think that they have the answer to our problems.I read things on the Internet and I fear that the US is doomed to be a battleground between the stupid and those who can think and reason.The comparisons to Hitler are not anything a sane man would say and the need to start a revolution is childish.
I am 74 and I spent 19 months in Korea during the so-called “Police Action”. We fought and lost three wars since WW2 and we have learned nothing from our losses.
The only answer to our problems is education and judging from some of these posters it is something that they sorely lack.

Eisenhower became President in 1953. That was 18 years after Will Rogers died in a plane crash in Alaska in 1935.

We all have to pay attention to the 2010 election–give our president some people with a brain to work with::We need congressional term limits::Dodd, Bacaus and Grassley are running the health care bill–all have been bought of by the hospital association/ pharmaceutical companies::President Obama put the cards on the table and the drug companies got rid of the donut hole in medicare!!::A mistake was that he didn’t nationalize the banks and take control of that group of crooks!! One of the overlooked things about the bullied takeover of General Motors is what impact it will have on Ford in particular. As this country begins to dig itself out of the economic hole we are in nowand there is a need for large, medium and small trucks to rebuild infrastucture etc., whose trucks do you think will win the “open bid” for government contracts? Anyone think it won’t be GM? This is about voting leverage and political control. Along with the changes coming in the income tax system to intimidate those who think differently from this administration and many of the Democrats in Congress and their powerful supporters receiving favoritism. Anyone remember Mark Rich, TimGeutner and Tom Dashle? Tax policy is always about political control and behavior modification. Our most recent example is Cap and Trade. The rest of the world has found this to be ineffective at best and very costly to live by. But, like good Socialists, the Obama Administration is pressing ahead wrecking our economy in an attempt to make you and I dependent on continuos promises of bailouts and “free money”. The only “free money” I have ever seen is Monopoly Money which is what our currency will be worth if this continues.

It appears that “everyone” is so afraid of appearing to be against this administration that they cower and give in rather than standing their ground. First it was the shouts of “racism” then the threats that they would be revealed as non-conformists. Now we are hearing more and more reluctance to publicly declared opposition to anything this adminsitration cares to present. If we are so afraid to express opinion using free speech rights, then how close are we to losing those rights completely? Evil occurs when good men, and women, do nothing. The time for standing around watching is over. We must take back Congress and it needs to be based on ISSUES. We must demand that the press begin vetting candidates based on ISSUES. The reason we are in the position is directly due to the overreaching of a socialist regime that is pushing fast to get the entire agenda passed because they know there will be a price to pay at the midterms. Write your reps frequently. Call them. Make sure they know we are not happy. The only way “We the People” can effectively stop the insanity of this government is to stop the life blood that keeps it going. That is, the cash they are stealing from us. Government cannot and will not heal itself. The one force, which still holds the power in this country that can do it, is “We the People”. But, that power is being taken away daily and it won’t be long before we no longer have the power of “We the People”.
I believe the time has past for talk and symbolic protests like the Tea Parties. Although they are a start, we need to mobilize a real effort to stem the tide of socialism that is being thrust upon us. The socialized liberals are not talking and making symbolic gestures, they are stealing our freedoms and making laws at an alarming rate. If we truly believe in the Constitution and in the fight our forefathers fought to give this country it’s Freedom and Liberty than we must not be complacent, or any less aggressive at preserving those rights then they were. If we don’t act with the same determination our forefathers did, than we disgrace them and make null all they fought and died for. We cannot and must not let that happen! We will be held accountable by future generations. What will we say when our grand kids and great grand kids ask the question! Why did you let this happen? You saw what was happening and did nothing to stop it.
The Boston Tea Party was not a symbolic activity! It was a revolution where by the American people said we would rather throw our goods into the harbor, and not sell them, rather than sell them and have to pay taxes to an oppressive government, thus cutting off the life blood. Even though it meant they would sacrifice income to support themselves. That is the kind of belief, bravery and tenacity it took to stop the tyranny then, and it will take no less effort and fortitude to stop it today.
I believe we need to cut off the governments source of power by withholding taxes, and there is a way it can be done without the government being able to stop it. Like our forefathers knew, the government cannot force us to open our business. They cannot put us in jail for not selling our products in effect throwing them into the harbor.
It has been said over and over that small businesses in this country are its backbone. If that’s true, it’s time to get America’s backbone back. We have been treated like the assholes long enough. We don’t even need a majority to accomplish this task. Can you imagine if we could rally 100,000 small businesses in this country to close their doors every Monday? How about 500,000? No sales tax, no income tax, no payroll tax, no VAT and on and on. If Monday doesn’t get their attention then Monday and Tuesday? And so on. Even 50,000 would make a huge impact. This would be the kind of movement our forefathers would have made. This is the kind of belief and fortitude that our forefathers and the future generations would be proud of. This is the kind of tenacity that made America Great!

I have been posting many of the words our forefathers have written about the
Constitution and government. Ironically, and to my surprise, Mr. Obama said in his 4th of July address that America needs to summon the “SPIRIT” that built a cluster of 13 colonies into the United States of America.
Well, on this one point I must say that I am 100% in agreement with him.
But, as with what now has become his modus operandi, he has said one thing, which he thinks will evoke some patriotic response, and is doing something totally the opposite. Another quote I recall from his campaign speeches was “JUST WORDS?”
No Sir, they are not “JUST WORDS”! So lets take a look at the “SPIRIT” of these words and see where it lead us.

Instead of professing our hatred and our fears (disguised by outrage) why can’t we do some things like help out in our communities? I know that I live in a great place that could only be made better if everyone who was so outraged could only channel this outrage into actions that truly helped others. Or are the “injustices” of our society so great that we can’t do that anymore either? I’m pretty sure that all of you are free to help other people, yet all that comes out of your keyboards is the fear that you are already somehow absolutely subjugated by policies shifts that you don’t agree with.
We live in the freest society that has ever existed in the history of the earth. Rules and laws manage this society. They are necessary, as they govern the freedoms we hold. Governments need to be held accountable and citizens need to perform their civic duties, but fear is what allows oppressors to oppress, hegemonizers to hegemonize, dictators to dictate, war mongers to war monger, enslavers to enslave, etc.
Come to terms with your fears. Learn to understand. Believe in the power of education to change generations and society itself. Accept that there are flaws in our society, but that there are also wonderful freedoms and opportunities that you reject when you base your motivation for action out of fear.
All of you that are so outraged should take the time to invest yourselves in your communities more. I’m sure that some of you already do, but I can guarantee all of you that there will never be such a thing as a surplus of understanding, helping, caring, love, will to do good, desire to improve…

One giant step–down the big, slippery slope. Do we citizens have the courage to stop this madness? I don’t think we do, because we’re no longer citizens, first, in a “nation of laws.” We’re part of this group or that party and we’ve retreated to the position that life in the US is a zero-sum game. Old-news flash: our Constitution provided a system in which everyone (who worked) could win. Yes, the past tense is intentional. In this new (or any) “nation of men,” it is easier, by definition, to steal others’ wealth than to work to create new wealth. Obama stole bondholders’ wealth and gave it to his contributors. This is not a warning shot across the bow of our country, it is a below-the-waterline, direct hit.

Left to its own devices, the “free market” (no such thing in the US for a long time — well over a century…It leans heavily towards “corporatism”, at least prior to Obama) would continue with the two-tiered system of medicine you have now, regardless of the millions who would be forced to scrape by on substandard (or no) care, while the rich would make damn sure they get the very best money can buy. Not much profit to be made off poor people, you know, so best to let them die off by the millions, every so often. They do provide the workforce, but when there’s an excess, so many of them become troublemakers. That cuts into profits, after awhile.
If you feel that I am unsympathetic to the plight of the super-rich, as they’re oppressed by the potential loss of money, you would not be wrong.

I believe what our founding fathers said holds true. Our Pledge of Alegiance agrees - “one nation under God.” I’m not so certain that this holds true today. Secularism has taken hold and the associated ills have come along with it. Our representatives in Washington have failed us with corruption and selfish decisions, thus an economic recession for many and a depression for those who have lost everthing. The social ills of abortion, broken homes and the such have become the norm along with the lack of common sense. Our nation’s problems are deep and will not turn around until we amend our ways and return to our “in God We Trust.”

The Rebulican Governor Victories in NJ and VA this week I beleve is an indicator of what is to come in the 2010 Congress Races. I believe that the 2010 Congress will be a “Republican” Congress and Obama, Pelosi, Reid, with the rest of the Democrats know it.
Therefore, Obama & Pelosi know they have only until the new Republican Congress takes over to get their Bills passed. If they can not get their communist bills passed before then to Ultimately destroy America, then they will never get them passed.

I would say this: Mulatto is not a term friendly to mixed-race individuals. I woulld add that racism ias no longer an option in this country. Geroge W. Bush AND Barack Obama were elected under the SAME system. So however we like or dislike the currenty President, he deserves the respect and CHANCE that ALL presidents have had, Democratic or Republican.
The taste of sour grapes reeks in these blogs. Comparing Obama to Hitler is despicable. Any American publicly making that comparison should examine their facts and at the very least hold that opinion until Death Camps appear.

Commander (21 years of active duty — (Cold War, Vietnam Era and 1st Gulf War vet), I will say this: when we allow this to go on, it is not too far a jump that a govt. can disenfranchise a whole group of people (e.g. Jewish) and eventually demonize and dehumanize them. This led to the Death Camps of Hitler.

Sarah Palin as Commander-in-Chief? Someone who quits her ELECTED office because she does “not want to become a lame duck”….as Govenor of Alaska? If this was a Democrat, she would be torn to pieces. NO WAY this person is qualified to be president. Anyone who will enter an inteview (ABC–Charles Gibson) unable to define what Bush’s policy on fighting terrorism was shows her ability to prioritize is SORELY lacking. These attributes are not something that come overnight. They are grown over years of EXPERIENCE. John McCain was clearly courting the female vote and boy, did he blow it! I spent 21 years in the service. Our boys in the field deserve someone who can appreciate what war is, preferably a veteran if not a combat veteran. But at least someone who can answer basic policy questions when they are putting themselves across as VP candidates. Hellooooo—-VP’s can become Presidents. Truman and Johnson come to mind. Ford is another. And I beleive she is not interested in a 2012 run for Pres. (or VP) like I believe Martha Stewart is a Neuro-Surgeon or Oprah Winfrey is dirt-poor. If Palin runs (as Republican of course), I will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that we have totally lost it and the Reublican Party will confirm that it is truly a representative of the rich and image obsessed.
